Core Plug problems, Gen IV Toro

Experience with core plugs

Thought I might mention that on both my 1991 VIN "L" motor and my 1988 Vin "C" motor the core plug above the starter motor has failed, both in exactly the same way.

Both have covered about 130 000 miles. The VIN "C" I have had from 30 000 miles and it has always had the proper anti-corrosion inhibiters etc in it.

It takes but a moment to check the core plugs if you are running an oil change and could pay good dividends if yours are going out too.

As far as I can tell the other plugs are fine. And just for once it looks like the easiest plug to change. It also looks to me like the plugs on the rear would need an engine out/engine lifted up in order to change them, which I guess is an "advantage" of compact, transverse design.
